Fort Myers, FL – In the month of August 2024, DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts presents the art of artist Will Soto. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, August 2nd from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. The exhibition is on display through Sunday, September 1st, 2024.

For Soto, an artist’s journey is an exploration of emotions, spirituality, and environment. He combines all of these in his works as a personal and visual representation of these observations.

Born in California, and transplanted to southwest Florida in 1986, Soto immersed himself in skateboard culture and music. His influences include elements of Graffiti, Street Art, Abstract Art and Surrealism. In 2020, at the age of 46, his artistic journey began after inheriting a collection of art supplies from a woman he never met. Within those supplies was a sketchbook with practice drawings, notes, and a list of goals and ideas for her artistic beginning. Feeling a strong connection to her thoughts and dreams, Will began to create.

Now in 2024, Will is an emerging artist who has shown in several local and regional shows, including the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center Gallery, DAAS CO-OP, Arts for Act, Bootleggers Alley and has works in several local businesses. Soto’s work is constantly evolving, and his ideas are converging in his own unique style. Now, in his 50th year, he is exploring new ideas and mediums as well as working with the local community to bring public mural art to the area.
