Imperfections: Life, Nature, Physical – The Art of Angela Arroyo

Fort Myers, FL – In the month of April, DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is showcasing the art of guest artist Angela Arroyo. The opening reception is scheduled for the evening of Friday, April 4, 2025, from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. This is a free event, and the adjacent Arts & Eats Café will be open during the same hours.

Angela Arroyo is a contemporary artist who works and explores multiple art mediums. Originally from Brighton, Colorado, she has been living in Southwest Florida since late elementary school, often visiting her home state in the summers and winters. Her artwork is influenced by the connections she has with nature as well as her personal development physically and mentally at different stages of her life. Arroyo’s passion for art has led her to obtain a bachelor’s degree in art at Florida Gulf Coast University in December 2022.

“My artwork portrays my deep connections with nature and the personal growth I have experienced throughout life. Through multiple mediums, I narrate the emotional, physical, and mental characteristics I find to be imperfect and link them to the external natural environment I immerse myself in.” – says Arroyo, who was introduced to different methods of printmaking and other mediums during her university years, and had the opportunity to work as a gallery assistant at the Wasmer Art Gallery where she started her career in the art field. “My use of vibrant colors and natural elements express the sometimes-unpleasant changes that I live with on the daily, both physically and mentally, yet those changes are imperfections that make me the person I am and my life story unique. Life changes and imperfections are what make your life experience fun and unforgettable. Interacting with nature, whether on hikes in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado or tropical beaches of Florida, has taught me that even Mother Nature has her imperfections. No two clouds are the same shape, and no two trees grow to be the same height with the same branches.” – concludes the artist.

Everyone is invited to attend this great event and meet the artist on the first Friday of April. DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is located at 10051 McGregor BLVD, STE 104 in Fort Myers, FL (adjacent to Arts & Eats Café) in the Alliance for the Arts Campus.
