Members Spotlight – Xavier Brignoni and Ocasiocasa

Fort Myers, FL – In the month of May, DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is hosting the very first Members Spotlight exhibition. This month, artists Xavier Brignoni and Dale & Jeff Ocasio, from ocasiocasa, will be presenting their new masterpieces. The opening reception is scheduled for the evening of Friday, May 2, 2025, from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. This is a free event, and the adjacent Arts & Eats Café will be open during the same hours.

Xavier Brignoni is a founding member of The Union Artist Studios and an active member of the artistic community of Southwest Florida. His body of work reflects on experiences and past relationships, incorporating elements uncommonly used in the production of 2D pieces. His approach to creating visually impacting works with a variety of media, including collage, decoupage, inks, acrylics, pencils, stamps and found objects.  

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase a series of works that did not make it in my previous exhibition.” – mentions the artist. “These pieces were portraying a different subject and I felt they would be better in a different setting, and this is the right one.” – concludes Brignoni, whose professional studio resides right in the Edwards building, in the same campus where DAAS CO-OP is located.

Each ocasiocasa sculpture is encased in layers of acid-free glue. Jeff sculpts and Dale adds the color with additional layers of acrylic paints and mediums. They document many of the sculptures with the use of photography combined with digital art, creating a photo-journalistic view of the whole wide imaginary world of ocasiocasa. The couple’s art has been honored with awards in juried shows and has been exhibited throughout Southwest Florida, St. Petersburg, and Chicago.

Everyone is invited to attend this great event and meet the artist on the first Friday of May. DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is located at 10051 McGregor BLVD, STE 104 in Fort Myers, FL (adjacent to Arts & Eats Café) in the Alliance for the Arts Campus.
