Shining Brightly: Intention Versus Randomness by Melanie Potter

Fort Myers, FL – In the month of October, DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is showcasing the artwork of abstract artist Melanie Potter. The opening reception is scheduled for the evening of Friday, October 3, 2025, from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. The exhibition will be on display until November 5, 2025.

Potter is a painter based in Tampa, FL. She graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2022. She creates abstract, expressionist art, where she shares her perspective as a young woman.

Potter says, “I love creating abstract work because each person interprets the painting differently.” The artist adds “To see my intention, notice the layers of colors, symbolism, and the “feeling” of the painting.” In Potter’s work, the longer you look, the more you see.

Potter’s paintings reflect a variety of symbols and references to her personal life experiences with a feminist’s point of view. Nature is a recurrent subject matter in her work.

Everyone is invited to attend this free event on the first Friday of October. DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is located at 10051 McGregor BLVD, STE 104 in Fort Myers, FL (adjacent to Arts & Eats Café) in the Alliance for the Arts Campus.
