Fort Myers, FL – In the month of February, DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is showcasing Kate Swanstrom’s newest paintings. The exhibition, entitled The Emergence of a Woman’s Mind, features a series of medium to large scale works produced this past year. An opening reception is scheduled for the evening of Friday, February 6, 2026, from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. The exhibition will be on display until March 1, 2026.
“In the depths of loss, I found a voice.” – says Swanstrom about the work. ‘The Emergence of a Woman’s Mind is self-reflection and navigates the shadows of grief and politics; ultimately surrendering to the light of healing and connection.” – she concludes.
Swanstrom is an American born-abroad and shaped by distant horizons. She draws from journeys across continents to create contemporary work, rooted in material memory and self-discovery. Trained at the Gemological Institute of America, her paths from jewelry to visual arts reflect a lifelong devotion to craft and curiosity. Now based in Cape Coral, Florida, her practice is guided by connection, between place, process and community. Everyone is welcomed to meet the artist during the opening reception.
