Thought Crimes: The Collective Art of Syzygy

Fort Myers, FL – In the month of November, DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is showcasing the artwork of the Syzygy collaborative. The opening reception for this exhibition entitled Thought Crimes is scheduled for the evening of Friday, November 7, 2025, from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. The exhibition will be on display until November 30, 2025.

Syzygy is defined as the uncanny collision of celestial bodies. Likewise, the uncanny collision of each distinctive style, process, and inspiration from these three artists lends to the production of unique and unexpected works of art.

What is the nature of collaboration, but art that defies the rule of law? There is no standard process for it, no strict expectations – just the beauty of embracing the random. And the works produced by artists Nick Masiello, Will Soto, and Danielle Branchaud are a testament to that.

For every preconception, there is improvisation. For every note of chaos, there is order. But most of all, these works are sprung from that most vital characteristic of collaborative artwork: community. Creating art with your friends and peers is what the Syzygy Collaborative art project is all about and has been since its advent in 2015. Originally founded by Danielle Branchaud and Nick Masiello, Syzygy has been forging an example on embracing opportunities for artists to work together – and was proud to include Will Soto in the process for this latest exhibition “Thought Crimes”. Together the three of them produced a variety of works that touch on every fiber of experience – an evident result of allowing whatever thought or concept to emerge organically as the piece was created.

Bringing forth artwork with perfect trust in the process is the ultimate rebellion. And Syzygy invites all artists to partake in that rebellion in their own unique way. “Syzygy: Thought Crimes” is opening on November 7^th, 2025, at DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery located at 10051 McGregor BLVD, STE 104 in Fort Myers (Alliance for the Arts campus), and will remain on display through the month of November.
