DAAS CO-OP Presents 20×20 Exposed, an Expressive Invitational Exhibition, in the Month of December

Fort Myers, FL – In the month of December, DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is inaugurating a new invitational exhibition featuring the art of southwest Florida creatives who seek to express their thoughts of the year 2020. The exhibition’s prospectus challenged artists to put the year 2020 in pictorial expression, in 20 inch by 20 inch canvases, of course. The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, December 4, 2020 from 6:00pm to 9:30pm, in conjunction with the monthly Fort Myers Art Walk event. The collective will be on display through January 2, 2021.

The concept of the 20×20 Exposed exhibition came from conversations regarding the many ups and downs of this year. For some, the year 2020 represents an array of devastating circumstances, social issues and economic crisis, among others. The COVID-19 pandemic has marked many lives with the loss of over 200,000 Americans due to this highly contagious virus. In contrast, 2020 seemed like a year of resilience and fortitude for others, who see the current times as a way to restore, regroup and reorganize many aspects of their environment. “We are looking forward to the show and to see how these artists interpreted the theme.” – says DAAS CO-OP co-founder, artist and curator David Acevedo. “I hope it serves as a way for artists to let go of the negative aspects of this year and heal. We need to look past this year to a brighter future.” – concludes Acevedo.

We invite all Southwest Florida art collectors, supporters and enthusiasts to join us for the opening reception in the evening of December 4. DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is located at 1815 Fowler Street, in the Butterfly Estates complex in Fort Myers, FL. The gallery’s temporary business hours are Thursday to Sunday, from 10am to 3pm.
