Fort Myers, FL – In the month of January, DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is starting the new year with an exciting new exhibition. Two artists, Juli Bobman and Bryan McGee, are sharing the spotlight as the first guest exhibitors of the year. An opening reception is scheduled for the evening of Friday, January 2, 2026, from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. The exhibition will be on display until February 1, 2026.
Lunation by Juli Bobman
A Fort Myers native who grew up on the beaches of Sanibel, Juli Bobman brings a deep connection to nature, the cosmos, and the feminine spirit to her work. A graduate of the Ringling College of Art and Design (1986), where she studied fine art and graphic design with a minor in printmaking.
Bobman has devoted her life to exploring how art reflects the cycles of life. Her work mixes the beauty of nature, matched with the complexity of life itself. The dedication to her craft has led her to produce a strong and meaningful collection of pieces, both in paper and on canvas.
Arrow of Time by Bryan McGee
Bryan McGee is a self-taught artist from Maryland, whose early career in Naval Nuclear Operations and academic work in physics formed a fascination with complex theories about the world, its systems, and our place within those systems. His work blends shifting realism with conceptual rigor, examining complex theories through the lens of the male form.
McGee focuses on the three main processes that dictate the direction of time, each representing a different order of magnitude. On the quantum scale, the collapse of the wave function; in the macroscale, the dissipation of energy; and at the cosmological scale, the universe expands. He wanted to present these ideas in a way more tangible than raw mathematics and conceptualization allows. In his pieces, McGee presents these concepts as human events and ideas that show similar progression of time in our own lives.
The gallery connects to the very popular Arts & Eats Café, the unique art café in Southwest Florida. The café also houses three artist studios and will be open evening hours during this and every first Friday event. More about Arts & Eats Café can be found at ArtandEats.cafe.
