One Piece of Mine, A Group Exhibition

Fort Myers, FL – In the month of April, DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is showcasing the artwork of a group of local artists, invited to submit only one piece representative of their work and creativity The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, April 7, 2023, from 6:00pm to 9:30pm, in conjunction with the monthly Fort Myers Art Walk event. The exhibition will be on display through April 30, 2023.

Sonia Rosa, a member of the Union Artist Studios on Fort Myers, is one of the invitees. Her work explores a variety of mediums, evoking spiritualism and mysticism. Rosa has collaborated with multiple artists as a professional figure model and is very well known on the art scene of our city.   

Visual artist and graphic designer Julia Da Rocha is another participant. She brings a vibrant, feminine and intuitiveness to the mix. Da Rocha, also a member of the Union Artist Studios, enjoys the freedom in her work. She is not bound to limitations on her medium and her process is organic. Her work, as well as several other participating artist, will help create an atmosphere of wonder and an introduction for each one of the participants. Restricted to only one piece, each artist is entrusted to select their visual business card. 

“Our gallery enjoys these invitational exhibitions because they support a number of artists and challenges them to create something special for the exhibition.” – David Acevedo, who co-owns DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery and curates all exhibitions. “When you put a group of highly creative individuals to work together, wonderful and unexpected things happen and that is essentially what our [cooperative] gallery concept is.” – concludes Acevedo, who also founded the Union Artist Studios and most recently, the Arts & Eats Café, located in the campus of the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers.

DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is located at 1815 Fowler Street, in the Butterfly Estates complex in Fort Myers, FL. The gallery’s business hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
