Inspired as a child by Lisa Frank and Saturday Morning Cartoons, and later the commercialism of Warhol, I started making fun items out of my paintings. I even do some digital too. I try to mine familiar references for my paintings, drawing on totems of consumerism and mainstream entertainment that are well-known to American audiences including horror movies, Barbie dolls, and classic Hollywood cinema. My artist statement is simply to make people smile. I want that to translate to my product. I very much appreciate being welcomed into your store, that I know as a business owner/manager/valued employee you put so much of yourself into. I know its business, but I want everything about getting product from my studio to your shelves to be a fun process to look forward to!
